Cricket Australia (CA) has unveiled a packed home summer schedule, featuring an eight-match white-ball series versus India, alongside fixtures against South Africa. The announcement, made on Sunday (March 30) confirms that Australian fans across all states and territories will have the opportunity to witness international cricket.
India’s tour, set to follow Australia’s series against South Africa, will commence with three ODIs. The first ODI is scheduled for Perth on October 19, followed by matches in Adelaide on October 23 and Sydney on October 25. The series will then transition to T20Is, with Canberra hosting the opening match on October 29. The remaining four T20Is will take place in Melbourne, Hobart, Gold Coast and Brisbane, providing a comprehensive tour of Australia.
Prior to India’s arrival, Australia will engage in a six-match series against South Africa, comprising three T20Is and three ODIs. A notable highlight of this series is the return of international cricket to Darwin after a 17-year hiatus.
The Australian team will enjoy a 12-day break following the conclusion of the white-ball action, providing ample time for preparation ahead of the Ashes Test series, which commences in Perth on November 21.
The summer schedule ensures a diverse range of venues, showcasing Australia’s commitment to spreading international cricket across the nation. The inclusion of Darwin and Mackay highlights CA’s efforts to reach fans in traditionally less frequented locations.
