India defeated England by four wickets in the Cuttack ODI, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Batting first, England posted a total of 304 in 49.5 overs, with Joe Root scoring a crucial 69 and Ben Duckett contributing 65 runs. For India, Ravindra Jadeja was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for just 35 runs.

Chasing the target, India reached 308/6 in 44.3 overs. Apart from Rohit’s exceptional century, Shubman Gill scored 60 runs, while Axar Patel and Jadeja remained unbeaten to guide the team to victory.

Speaking to BCCI.tv after the match, Rohit shared his thoughts about his batting: “Every time I walk onto the pitch to play, I want to perform well. Sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn’t. As long as I am clear on what I want to do, that’s all that matters.”

Reflecting on his approach, he added: “When you have scored so many runs, you know you have done something right. You just need to get back to that mindset – how to score runs. It sounds simple, but it’s quite challenging. In my mind, it was all about enjoying the game. That’s what we play for – to enjoy the sport more than anything else.”
