Bowling from over the wicket, Wood angled the ball into the off stump on a good length, but the surface played its part, with the ball straightening sharply after pitching. Rohit, who was expecting it to hold its line, was caught off guard by the late movement and found himself slightly squared up while attempting a defensive push.

The ball took the outside edge of his bat and traveled low towards the wicketkeeper’s right. Salt, anticipating the deviation, reacted swiftly, diving full stretch to his right and grabbing the ball cleanly just inches above the turf. The sharp reflex catch was a testament to Salt’s agility and awareness behind the stumps. Rohit dismissal left India at 6/1. Wood, elated with the early breakthrough, celebrated as England made an ideal start with the ball.

Shubman Gill’s dominance puts India in command against England in 3rd ODI

India have made a strong start in the third ODI against England at Ahmedabad, reaching 183/2 in 28 overs after being asked to bat first. Captain Rohit fell early for just 1 run, edging a sharp delivery from Wood to wicketkeeper Salt. However, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli steadied the innings with a fluent 116-run partnership for the second wicket.

Gill has been the standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 95 off 87 balls, playing exquisite strokes, including 13 fours and two sixes. Kohli, after reaching a well-paced fifty off 50 balls, was dismissed for 52 by Adil Rashid, caught behind while attempting a drive.
