India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah shared posted his first image since his absence from the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 became official. He posted a mirror selfie on Instagram from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru with a single-word caption: “Rebuilding.”
The photograph shows Bumrah wearing a beige T-shirt, matching jacket, black shorts, and a brown cap while taking a selfie in front of a mirror.

The BCCI confirmed on Tuesday that Bumrah would miss the Champions Trophy due to a stress-related lower back injury sustained during the final Test against Australia in Sydney. Young pacer Harshit Rana has been named as his replacement for the tournament, which begins February 19 in Pakistan.
India’s opening match is scheduled against Bangladesh in Dubai, on February 20, under the hybrid model arrangement.
The BCCI has taken extra precautions with Bumrah’s recovery following a previous setback in 2022. At that time, he was rushed back for an Australia series before the T20 World Cup, resulting in another injury that kept him out of cricket for nearly a year.
The Indian squad for Champions Trophy 2025 includes Rohit Sharma as captain, Shubman Gill as vice-captain, along with Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, and Varun Chakaravarthy.
